When I Was Just A Little Boy 3
Snacks
When we were absolutely young (primary 1 / standard 1) we cannot venture beyond the walls of our school. But as we age, we learn of brave seniors who would bring in bubble gums and a whole slew of other entertainment stuff.
Here’s a sample of (probably illegal by my mum’s standard) food items that we obtained from the shop next door:
Biscuits
Sugus (well I wanted to put White Rabbit Sweet also but since it was pull out of the menu recently…)
Bubble Gum (the Red Indian kind, less tasty)
Bubble Gum (the fruity square type, more tasty, and I remember it was 10 cents a box)
But occasionally even cut fruits which is healthy. Otherwise, the school canteen used to sell fried drumsticks – a perfect treat only when I’m not naughty.
Ice pops! And I think they were 10 cents too..
Yes ice pops! I had the long version, in 2 segments. But I actually never liked the feeling of biting into ice (teeth partially k.o. after having too much antibiotics) so I’d wait for it to melt a little and drink it.
