Dreaming of Seattle (Symphonic Dances: Rachmaninoff)

Must be the food.

Or the randomness of YouTube’s recommendations.

Haven’t heard Symphonic Dances by Rachmaninov for ages. Every time I stumble upon it, I think of PSSO and my short lived time in Seattle.

Like all epic final pieces of a composer’s life, Symphonic Dances is full of nostalgic reference. This version is recorded by Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra, which the work was originally dedicated to.
