How to rid yourself from SPAM

(1) A dude called Yuen-lin did an interesting exercise, he rid himself from spam :O Listen to what he explained to dudes on smf-kopitiam.

Today, I did three things:

1) Registered all my phone numbers at, the National
Do Not Call Registry. “Most telemarketers should not call your number
once it has been on the registry for 31 days.”

2) Called 1-888-5-OPT-OUT [1] to remove myself from mailing lists
maintained by 4 major credit reporting agencies. The lists are used by
companies sending credit card and insurance offers by mail.

3) Went to the Direct Marketing Association’s website [1] to request
addition to their list of people who don’t want unsolicited mail and

Also, ever wondered if those plastic window envelopes are safe to
recycle? Answer is yes! [2]

For the e-mail stuff it probably benefits everyone, but the phone and physical mail stuff I think only applies to US residents. No harm trying 🙂

(2) Happy New Year! Life goes on, but whatever you do, don’t start smoking! It’s bad for you and me.

(3) Playing with PhilWinds have been rewarding. I have to reiterate this in public to remind myself that I want to leave a life with music, and I will do whatever it takes to keep that alive, no matter what other obligation I have to the rest of the world. If you meet me you will have to remind me as well!

(4) Jamson is right – I’m an idiot who study too much. Sometime ago I met Jamson for a long chat at Kallang McD to talk about my financial condition and what I want to do with my life. I told him that within my means I definitely want to have something of my own, perhaps a business would be suitable. He gave me some homework to do.

So far I’m still doing the first one, which is to find appropriate business mentors. Reading books like biographies is perhaps the way I can achieve this. So far I’ve only investigated Steve Jobs thoroughly. I find that if one takes the luck portion away from his story, Steve have one very important thing I’m lacking – that’s to be thick face. Don’t get me wrong, my face is thick already, considering only my immediate environment. But I think if you’re going to go out there and fight, your skin probably needs to be much thicker.

Thus as a start, I’ll try to put one foot into pre-sales for Tx123 and continue to put one foot in development, which is still my first love in any tech company. Getting involve for me is easy (there’s no one else if you read earlier posts) but actually fronting these things will be hard. I’m expected to give a sales pitch to CEO on Monday evening, and I haven’t really got a clue how to start. Perhaps I should cut this short and start power-pointing.
