And I thought in year 2002 when my www.jiinjoo.com<\/a> came online I’m the biggest link farm in the world (auto gen sites notwithstading).. Somehow this guy’s “passion” is quite overboard for FTA channels \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I mean, sure, maybe make some advertising dollars. But for the amount of work … and the subject matter … especially since this is only setup since August 2008 … <\/p>\n

Anyway, which brings me to a reverse phenomena from Google’s Page Rank. Page Rank in its pure form says you’re important when many others say you’re important. In this case, it’s a fan (or nut case whatever you call it) who say you’re important 10000 times on a site, which under usual circumstances means you’re a spammer (think splogs etc.) But how about the reverse, whereby entities can figure out how important you are as a mechanism of word of mouth advertising or just plainly your “highness” in its prioritized list of customers, based on the number of links on your site to related subject matter?<\/p>\n

So take the same thing here, how can MCS<\/a>, in its effort to reward its affiliates, ascertain how much publicity you have generated to its sites, subsites, artists, how much content you wrote about them, etc.? There’s an industry which allows people to review products on their blogs and get paid for it, but it’s not “concentrated” in terms of subject matter (for example, reviewme.com asked me to review a web hosting company on my blog… which I’ve never used… and tell me if I reviewed it properly I get $5 -_-)<\/p>\n

Using a page rank like algorithm by looking up back links to your own media space, it seems that there should be a reward going the other way. I could look up my recent back links, for example like this<\/a>, then maybe sort by weight (maybe the real page rank) and reward the top 3 sites something for making an effort to point to me (actual click through not withstanding as well). Which in my case, Stanford CS dept<\/a> deserves my donation \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
