  5. Poverty + Rural\/urban divide<\/li>\n
  6. No transparent tendering system<\/li>\n
  7. Perception of corruption ingrained<\/li>\n
  8. Self-ostracism (by currency controls)<\/li>\n
  9. FDI<\/a> languished, not easy to do business<\/li>\n
  10. Mega project failures, quoting PERWAJA<\/a>, PROTON<\/a>, and MSC<\/a><\/li>\n
  11. Petronas<\/a> hijacked for bailing<\/li>\n
  12. Poorly privatized companies at the cost to the citizens, including power producers, PLUS<\/a>, and healthcare<\/li>\n
  13. Education – university rankings down<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    His solution?<\/p>\n

    1. Rewrite affirmative action (yey)<\/li>\n
    2. Remove economic protectionism<\/li>\n
    3. Move past the race based rhetoric<\/li>\n
    4. Revamp wealth allocation schemes<\/li>\n
    5. Elect an efficient, non-partisan government<\/li>\n
    6. Set KPIs \/ create competition after privatization<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
