Just want to let everyone know that I’m alright, in case you don’t see me that often these days, it’s because of the super workload that I’m taking on these two months. I will try to keep to blogging once a week to stay sane (see tip no. 2) as well.
Here’s how I deal with [...]

Ready to be a 30 year old
Here’s a quick summary of the weekend of doing nothing.

Short translation: Confucius felt that one’s 30s will be characterized by his independence in taking on responsibility, and his clear life directions and developmental goals. Being self-aware, independent, systematic, and calm, one in his 30s will [...]
High Five by High Five
Arts House. Play Den. Finally we get to try out a venue where the audience is literally next to the players, hearing directly from the horn’s bell, seeing water dripping from water keys, and being part of the music in the most intimate fashion. It almost reminds me of some 200 year old classical drawing [...]

Just Be Happy
Once in many years, someone with excellent photographic skills will be able to capture a picture of me being unexpectedly happy.
And these pictures often reminds me that I can be happy too – look, I just did!
This is just the latest in a string of them, taken by jx at last year’s Christmas outdoor gig.

Stanford Leading Matters vs CMU Inspire Innovation
In a fairly short time span, I was able to attend two alumni events of both my alma maters, without having to travel far as both were held in Singapore. Both came to the alumni for giving obviously, reinforcing their global status and the need for alumni to give to help in rankings and endowment. [...]

And today 4pm I got my keys woohoo!
Looking forward to moving in before Chinese New Year. I probably won’t be engaging a mover this time, so I would appreciate some help, especially those looking forward to some great exercise and a yummy [...]
Now available at SingTel
It has been an interesting week. Transitioning from IDA to SingTel wasn’t as difficult as I expected, maybe I’m just getting better at such transitions. Yesterday, as I was walking back to Suntec for dinner, I finally found that sentimental comfort that location wise it’s really just a stone’s throw away. Focusing on the present [...]
Voices of Drifters
Can someone tell me why songs these days can’t be as concisely beautiful and deeply meaningful as these written decades ago?
We are all wanderers, to some extend. We go around seeing the world, and gain wisdom, and come to accept that we are no more than drifters who does not control the world. So we [...]

Ong Jiin Joo is a Business Development Manager in SingTel Innovation Exchange. Much of his life thus far has been straddling the technology world and the music world, and nothing in between. He pretends that a lot of people read his blog, and is thus only partially frank in his writing. To get the full blown view often involves contacting him for coffee (he doesn't like alcohol).
